Melbourne based Spinifex Pharmaceuticals Pty Ltd is a private company established in June 2005 to undertake drug development activities leading to the commercialisation of potential new drug candidates for the treatment and management of pain.

In 2015, Spinifex was acquired by Novartis for a US$200m upfront payment and significant further milestone payments.
